Bruny Island at its best

Abel Tasman first spotted Bruny Island  in 1642 with many other explorers following in the next 100 years to include Captains Furneaux, Flinders, Cook and Bligh. With such a famous visitor book the island has become a haven for wildlife lovers, foodie tasters, nature and fauna enthusiasts or anyone that wants to breath in the fresh air and just relax.

Meeting the local artisans and producers that call the island home is a highlight of a visit to this beautiful Island. A short ferry ride from the mainland brings you to the island, where you will be in awe of the wild and iconic scenery such as the isthmus of land that connects the north and south, known as the Neck. The Neck is also an important habitat for wildlife and from viewing platforms you can watch little penguins and short tailed shearwater seabirds. You can then enjoy 360 degree views from Neck Lookout and gain a unique perspective of the island.
